How to Pray for Healing (Even If You Don’t Feel Worthy)
How to Pray for Healing (Even If You Don’t Feel Worthy)
After a devastating medical report, it’s easy to feel unworthy to even talk to God—let alone ask Him for healing. But be assured:
You don’t have to earn healing.
Healing is part of your inheritance as a child of God. Jesus already paid the price.
“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows… and by His stripes we are healed.” —Isaiah 53:4–5 (NKJV)
You Have Authority in Christ
God is not waiting for you to prove yourself worthy. He’s waiting for you to take hold of the authority He already gave you through Jesus.
“Behold, I give you the authority… over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” —Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Sickness is a thief, and Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy (1 John 3:8). When you pray, you don’t beg—you speak as one who knows their Father hears and responds.
A Simple, Powerful Prayer for Healing
Prayer comes from the heart, as if you are speaking to your best friend. It doesn’t require perfect words or a script. But effective prayer is based on knowledge of God’s will through His Word, and using those words as He directs us. In Scripture, He very clearly tells us that His word “shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV)
If you don’t know what to say, let this be your starting point:
Healing Prayer:
“In the name of Jesus, darkness must flee my body. I cast out every sickness, every disease, every cancerous cell—leave my body now in Jesus’ name! Holy Spirit, send Your healing power to touch every part of me, even those places I don’t know need healing. Thank You, Jesus, for healing me. I am healed. I am whole. I walk in divine health—all the days of my life. Amen.”
Healing Scriptures to Declare
Speak these promises aloud:
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” —Psalm 118:17 (KJV)
“God’s Word is life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” —Proverbs 4:22 (NKJV)
“Let God be true and every man a liar.” —Romans 3:4 (NKJV)
“By His wounds you have been healed.” —1 Peter 2:24 (NIV)
You Are Not Alone
No matter how far gone things seem, God is still your healer. You don’t have to perform—you just need to believe.
Whose report will you believe?
Say it with me:
I shall believe the report of the Lord.
