When Darkness Walks In With You
When the Doctor Says “It’s Bad,” But God Says “You Shall Live”
What do you do when your world flips upside down in a matter of minutes?
That’s exactly what happened to Julie Thomas. She walked in for a routine mammogram and walked out with the weight of a death sentence. The technician's face gave it away before the words were even spoken. “This doesn’t look good,” he muttered. But even in that dark moment, something inside Julie stirred—a whisper from the Spirit:
“I believe the report of the Lord.”
She didn’t know what the future held, but she knew Who held it.
“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” —Isaiah 53:1 (NKJV)
The Power of a Decision in the Dark
The doctor painted a grim picture for Julie:
Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer
Malignant tumor on her back
Cancer in her lymph nodes
Aggressive treatment—if she even qualified for it
Yet somehow, through the chaos and fear, she found the strength to say, “Thank you, but I need to go now.” She walked out of that office with the natural report echoing in her ears—but the supernatural truth was rising in her heart.
She had a choice. We all do.
Whose report will you believe?
The Truth That Trumps Every Diagnosis
Doctors have a role, and we thank God for them. But their report isn’t the final word. God's Word is. And His Word says:
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.” —1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)
Healing is not just possible—it’s promised.
Not because of our strength, but because of Jesus’ sacrifice. That truth was Julie’s anchor through the fight.
Be inspired to know that you don’t have to accept every diagnosis as your destiny. The medical report may describe your situation, but it does not define your future. God does.
A Prayer for You Today
If you or someone you love just received a devastating diagnosis, don’t let fear win. Let’s pray together:
Jesus, I believe Your Word is stronger than any medical report. I speak Your healing over my body. Let every cancer cell, every disease, every affliction be cast out in Your mighty name. I choose life. I choose healing. I believe the report of the Lord! Amen.
Declaration to Speak:
“Let God be true and every man a liar.” —Romans 3:4 (NKJV)
I shall believe the report of the Lord!
